Bouyan

Bouyan
An island paradise of the Slavs. On it was the sacred stone Alatuir, from beneath which flowed a river whose waters healed all ailments. Here dwelt the king of the snakes and Zarya the beautiful priestess. It resembles Falias, the City of the North of Celtic myth, from whence came the Stone of Destiny, and seems to indicate an intermingling of Slavonic and Celtic myth at some early stage. Bouyan also resembles Murias in being the City beneath the Waters. Even after the revolution Bouyan continued to occupy an important place in Slavonic myth, and is akin to Raj.
